Colton started in concrete. Foundations, footings, commercial slabs. The kind of work where you learn fast that there's no room for shortcuts because the entire structure depends on what you pour. He spent years on commercial job sites where OSHA compliance wasn't a suggestion and a crooked form meant tearing it out and starting over. That discipline stuck. After their daughter was born, Colton and Paige made the decision to build something of their own. CJR Concrete & Landscape Construction started as a concrete company operating out of Loomis. Small crew. Big standards. The first clients came through word of mouth, and they kept coming back. A driveway turned into a patio. A patio turned into a full backyard remodel. People started asking about landscaping, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens. So they grew. Today CJR handles pool construction, residential and commercial concrete, and complete landscape installations across Placer, El Dorado, and Sacramento County. Colton is licensed in Concrete (C-8), Landscaping (C-27), and Excavation (C-61/D56), and the company carries full insurance coverage on every employee and every piece of equipment.

Colton Ray

Colton doesn't manage projects from behind a desk. He's on site. Every project. Checking grades, walking forms, reviewing rebar placement, coordinating with the crew on what's happening that day and what's coming next week. With over a decade of experience in concrete, landscaping, and excavation, he brings a level of construction knowledge that shows up in the details most homeowners never think to ask about. Concrete mix design. Rebar spacing. Gravel base depth. Drainage slope. These are the things that determine whether your patio holds up for 20 years or starts cracking after two. He works closely with the CJR in-house landscape designer so the design process and the construction process stay connected. What gets drawn is what gets built.
